The Saudi Energy Efficiency Center, in cooperation with the Saudi Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality, has created an online database that enables anyone to inquire about the car's fuel consumption by knowing the value of the car's fuel economy (from the year 2010 and beyond) and to know the extent to which it matches energy efficiency requirements, i.e. It exceeds the minimum limits set by the standard for each class of vehicles and is as follows:
Passenger cars (10.3 kilometers per liter)
Light trucks (9.0 kilometers per liter)
Those wishing to view the database can click on the "Vehicle Inquiry" icon.
Inquiry notification for used vehicles that compliance energy efficiency requirements
Starting from January 1, 2016, the importer of the used vehicles must provide a inquiry notification from the Authority for Standardization, Metrology and Quality indicating that the imported vehicle conforms to the requirements of the fuel economy standard. Those wishing to import vehicles can issue the inquiry notification through the portal by clicking on the "Issue Inquiry Notification" icon, as this requirement does not cancel any of the other requirements for importing used vehicles into the Kingdom, and that this notification is not considered an approval for the customs clearance.
